Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Interior Designer for immediate employment in our New York City office. AECOM?s Buildings + Places business line is dedicated to design excellence and integrated project delivery solutions with expertise including architecture, interiors, engineering, development, workplace strategy, economic planning, master planning, project management and construction services. Our B+P New York City studio provides industry leading design projects in corporate, commercial, transportation, government, research and technology markets. AECOM projects include the World Trade Center, New York; Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta; and corporate-commercial projects throughout Europe, Asia and the America?s ranging from corporate headquarters to commercial office towers

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Maintain line of communication and collaborative working relationship with leadership

  • Assist preparation of project proposals with leadership

  • Assist management of quality control and team performance for interiors projects

  • Manage existing client relationships and develop new project opportunities

  • Provide consistent and timely communication of project information with clients and project team

  • Mentor and coach staff for growth

  • Assist with maintaining resource library vendor contacts and relevant content with staff

  • Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 10+ years of related interior design project experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

  • Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types

  • Experience with all project phases including pre-design through construction administration

  • Expert knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market including manufacturers and dealers

  • Experience documenting FF+E specifications including budget and procurement administration

  • Experience in maintaining fiscal accountability of projects

  • Experienced in maintaining and building new client relationships

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures

  • Self-starter, leader, manage and mentor multiple project teams

  • Able to work and lead a complex team structure

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up or other 3D modeling software

  • LEED Accreditation required within 12 months of employment

  • Ability to accommodate some regional domestic travel (valid driver?s license may be required)

  • Ability to communicate design through appropriate media to client and team

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Well Certified

  • Experience with large scale / corporate headquarter projects
