Our client, is an is an international financial technology company that operates an electronic trading platform for the institutional credit markets, and also provides market data and post-trade service. They are looking for a Sr. Cloud Data Engineer to join their team

Senior Cloud Data Engineer

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic senior engineer to join the development team working in a fast-paced environment. S/he will be part of the team solving company s big data needs with cloud based solutions. We are seeking skilled technologists who have strong technical skills as well as the leadership characteristics required to guide others from a technical perspective. This position will require that the candidate work together not only with other technologists but also with business colleagues.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and scale infrastructure in AWS and analytics applications using big data and machine learning technologies in AWS

-Participate in setting the standards for cloud based initiatives

-Improve the scale and performance of the growing system

- Coordinate with business analysts and quality assurance on a daily basis

-Present technical designs of work performed to the various groups (including Development, QA, BA and the business)

Required Technical Skills:

- Expert in Docker and Kubernetes in AWS

- Expert in infrastructure as code technologies, such as Terraform, Helm Charts and CloundFormation

- 2+ years of working experience on AWS big data products, such as Redshift

- Have experience working with terabytes of data and must understand the challenges of transforming and enriching large datasets

- Experience with machine learning and data visualization products in AWS, such as SageMaker

- Experience with tools in AWS to monitor and support cloud based solutions, such as Datadog.

- Excellent programming skills, such Java and Python

Preferred Technical Skills:

- Agile development

- Web development using HTML5, JavaScript

Other requirements:

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Organizational and problem resolution skills

- The profile of a team-player who forms strong relationships with colleagues and has good interpersonal skills

- Ability to deal with changing priorities
