The opportunity:We are seeking an AWS Engineer to join our expanding Technology team. The role will work directly with the Director of Technology to ensure scalable and secured technical implementation of APDS products and services.If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are inspired by the belief that technology can change the worlds social problems, we encourage you to submit an application.
Your Responsibilities:-- Implement secure IP Sec tunnels leveraging AWS services-- Configure and maintain VPCs, IP routing tables, firewall policies across all environments-- Implement appropriate alerting on all AWS services-- Configure and maintain all EC2s and ensure that access is locked down and accurate-- Configure firewall, firewall policies-- Implement high availability architecture solutions-- Configure and maintain backups of all AWS items-- Work with developers to deploy scalable, and secure application-- Manage end-to-end technical integrations of 3rd party educational partners, including functional and security testing-- Manage AWS-based web filter, firewall and other network and security controls to ensure partner compatibility and overall system security.-- Integrate APDS AWS system with customer network infrastructures-- Enhance APDSs monitoring, alerting, logging, redundancy, DR practices, and establish active pen testing routines-- Follow SDLC processes and work with AWS vendors to complete projects-- Establish and maintain security measures and compliance-based policies-- Test functionality and security of our partners systems to ensure compatibility with the APDS network-- Conduct a full security and functionality audit of all existing partners, and establish ongoing monitoring and controls to keep these partner systems functioning-- Ensure existing partner integrations continue to be successfully deployed in the APDS environment
Qualifications and Desired Skills:-- 3-5 years experience in working with AWS networking technologies-- Fluency in AWS, network infrastructure, routing, security, Android, web, web filters/firewalls, MDM-- Background in testing and/or managing test processes (pen-testing or testing automation a plus)-- Familiarity with APIs, particularly SSO and data collection-- Ability to distill complex or technical information to be understood by non-technical staff-- Highly organized, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment-- Creative problem-solving - ability to identify problems and proactively resolve them with minimal guidance-- Passion for correctional or adult education (background in this area a plus)
