Job Description Major Responsibilities: This global role involves managing a team who maintains the AML and sanctions risk lists, conducts the ongoing enterprise wide money laundering and sanctions risk assessments, maintains the customer risk rating methodology and oversees First and Second Line responses to audit and other findings. The AML and Sanctions Risk Leader will gain a high level of exposure across multiple lines of business and have the opportunity to work with senior management, compliance partners, regulators, auditors, committees and other key constituents. Provide thought leadership and key input into the strategic direction of the ML and Sanctions Risk Assessment program including annual assessments,, agile assessments and customer risk rating. Lead a project to enhance the ML and Sanctions Risk Assessment program including ML and sanctions risk lists and the customer risk rating methodology and develop a business-as-usual framework for ongoing maintenance and enhancement Maintain the money laundering and Sanctions Risk Appetite Statement including associated key risk thresholds, measures and acceptable, trigger or breach limits to guide the determination of whether risk exposures are within the stated risk appetite. Enhance and maintain various risk factor lists and their associated risk rating related to: Jurisdictions Industries Formation Legal Structures Global Stock Exchanges Global Regulators Products and Services (including Distribution Channels) Source of Wealth Purpose of Accounts Own the enterprise money laundering and sanctions enterprise risk assessment model Develop a program for the agile assessment of ML and Sanctions risk responsive to negative news or other events Oversee a team that conducts the enterprise ML and Sanctions Risk Assessment process on a global basis and agile assessments on an ongoing basis. Serve as a liaison with the Enterprise Risk, Data Analytics and Model Development functions. Providing expertise, guidance, inputs and oversight to model development including revisions to keep the model current. Own the policies, methodologies, and procedures related to the money laundering and sanctions risk assessment process. Qualifications Education/ Certifications: Undergraduate college degree required; post-graduate degree a plus. Minimum 8-10 years related experience. Prior AML and Sanctions compliance and/or risk management experience. Previous supervisory/managerial experience required. Professional certification such as CAMS, RMA, CFE, CPA, CIA, etc Skills and Experience: Working knowledge of AML, OFAC, FinCEN, and KYC procedures and regulatory requirements including BSA and USA PATRIOT Act. Able to manage multiple simultaneous tasks in a high pressure, deadline environment. BSA/AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment experience is required. Strong abilities in analytical thinking, problem solving, research, time management, and verbal and written communication. Capable of leading a team and producing high quality and/or final work product and solutions under strict regulatory or management deadlines. Able to take ownership and initiative, to negotiate, influence and build consensus and successfully navigate within a demanding and international environment of a leading global financial institution.
