The Opportunity: ING is looking for a junior originator for the Debt Capital Markets Group in New York City. ING is in the process of rapidly expanding its US DCM franchise which will strengthen its global bond offering capabilities, beyond its well established European and Asian platforms. The group works closely together with client coverage teams and other product specialists in the ING network and advises on a wide range of funding opportunities in the global capital markets. Main Responsibilities: Provide direct support to senior (primarily IG) DCM originators with the aim to win new bond mandates and maximize bond related revenue Taking the lead in the preparation of marketing material Coordinate and prepare multi-currency pricing updates with the syndicate desks Support deal execution by means of direct involvement in the deal team (e.g. documentation and due diligence, roadshow logistics, bookbuilding and orderbook analysis) Prepare weekly digests to be distributed internally covering topics such as fixed income markets, rates and deal commentary Liaise with other key ING internal stakeholders (e.g. client coverage teams, other DCM departments across the globe, DCM syndicate, capital structuring & advisory, credit research, corporate sales) to identify opportunities, enhance internal cooperation and to maximize client cross-sell Support further product development within DCM team, in particular around sustainability and green bonds but also liability management exercises and more complex bond offerings such as hybrids Identify market opportunities by applying knowledge from various market sources (Bloomberg, macro-economic research, etc.) Education: Bachelor or Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field Required skills and experience: 2+ years of prior experience in a capital markets or investment banking environment Experience in liability management exercises is preferred Structuring experience and interest in sustainable finance FINRA Series 79/63 Pursuing or having a CFA designation is a plus Knowledge of international credit and rates markets and global economics Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word Knowledge of corporate finance valuation and accounting concepts Additional skills and experience: Reliable and a strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of business Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Eager to learn and apply new knowledge, absorb and digest market intelligence on a daily basis Genuine interest for financial markets and global economics Creative in storytelling and writing, focused on framing the best possible strategy for the client Go-getter, showing a level of initiative that allows us to take the business forward Team player, willing to assist wherever needed What do we offer?
