Manager, Package Development EngineeringThe Manager of Packaging will partner with Product Development and Marketing for assigned categories by synergizing new technologies in packaging in parallel with new formula development. Work cross functionally with project management and supply chain teams to ensure all aspects meet or exceed quality, creative and product delivery requirements within a managed timeline and cost objective. ResponsibilitiesDevelops and commercializes first-to-market innovative packagesWorks closely with our formulation technology and design experts to ensure a positive holistic package and product experience and deliver a delightful in-use experienceCollaborates with key strategic external partners and suppliers to bring in new package ideas and identify the right technical executions to meet project success criteriaDevelop and implement package test plans and provide direction to evaluate packaging components.Oversees independent projects/oversight of an individual brand and owns projects from development through final productionWork with Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Supply Chain to define specification, design criteria and defect range to ensure optimal process flow from manufacture of components through filling and assemblyPrepare detailed cost feasibility with a financial bridge to final Cost of GoodsDelegates work to seasonal interns as neededAttends Weekly PPD and Feasibility MeetingsMaintain accountability for commercialization and production of components and finished goods that fully achieves Clients design objectives in areas of aesthetics and functionality with the understanding any deviation must have leadership and Client approval. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Package/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or other related engineering fields6-10 years in proven package development project work/quality experience in the beauty and/or consumer goods field. Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in color cosmetics.Comprehensive knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on primary, secondary and tertiary packagingComprehensive knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance for the cosmetic industry with best practicesStrong technical drawing review, evaluation, and approvalExcellent project management, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to be flexible, work well under pressure and use sound judgment as well as be a team player in a matrix work environment.Ability to travel to our Princeton, NJ office or outside suppliers as needed.Utilizes strong independent judgement and decision making skills; works with minimal supervision *No relocation assistance will be provided Associated topics: business, cost efficient, industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer, methods engineer, project, sap, supply, supply chain
