Job Description: Full Time Consultant QA Analyst

Overview of Role:

This role requires that the person creates and executes quality assurance (QA) test cases for In-House applications and package software while following the best practices . The QA analyst is expected to work closely with QA Test Lead but is also expected to be independently motivated.

Required skills for a qualified candidate:

Education:

A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a position involving hands-on software application development and design.

Work Experience Skills:

  • 8+ years experience as a Quality Assurance analyst.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to design test plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures based on business requirement and/or functional specification.
  • Ability to create and execute test cases manually.
  • Ability to document software defects, and report defects to developers and project manager.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, screen, or content.
  • Ability to monitor bug solution, efforts and track successes.
  • Ability to plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  • Participate in product design reviews providing input on functional requirement, production design Schedule or potential problem.
  • Review software documentation to ensure technically accuracy, compliance, or completeness or to mitigate risks
  • Ability to independently analyze extensive data, identify discrepancies and inconsistencies and recommend a course of corrective action.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of Client/Server (Windows base) and Web server application architecture, and hands-on testing experience with different system components.
  • Experience with setting up Test environment.
  • Experience with System Integration Testing.
  • Experience with SQL and databases.
  • Excellent organization / analytical skill.
  • Ability to understand .NET and SQL code.
  • Ability to write the SQL statement to manipulate and validate data.
  • Experience testing for financial applications or systems.

Computer Skills:

  • OS: Windows, Windows Server
  • DB: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Network : FTP, UNIX-to-PC connectivity, HTTP, TCP/IP
  • Browsers : IE, Microsoft IIS

Requested skills but not required:

  • Experience in HP Quality Center is plus.
