Kelly IT is currently searching for a WWAN Software Engineer for a client near New York, NY.

WLAN Software Engineer


  • Designs, and supports developing, and testing of WWAN solutions to several complex technical projects.
  • Decompose cellular function requirements to appropriate software components, developing software requirements specifications, design specifications and test plans.
  • Design and develop software components for Android Mobile computers. (Android Framework, applications services & drivers in Java, C, C++)
  • Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific software functionality.
  • Participates and provides some input in project code reviews.
  • Runs software tests designed by more experienced engineers.
  • Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
  • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Ensures compliance with quality process and standards.
  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing software.
  • Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
  • Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
  • Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.
  • May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters
  • Experience with WWAN test equipment such as network simulators and call boxes are desired but not mandatory.
  • Perform testing of the Wireless Wide Area Network subsystem (both live and Network simulators)
  • Work with certification labs and partners to debug and fix issues.


  • Exposure to working with chip vendor/partner is advantages especially Qualcomm.
  • Demonstrate experience working with Android OS, Java, C, C++ and cellular & network technology or strong knowledge of Android framework.
  • Experience working with wireless technologies and protocols (WWAN or WLAN)
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly grasp new technology.
