Position Summary: This opening is a professional position supporting attorneys in the Private Equity, Funds and Investment Management practices, reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Business Development. The main functions will be to collaborate with attorneys and Firm leaders in promoting our world-class practices, to perform marketing and research functions, and to coordinate events. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience, including at least three years working with another law firm or a financial services firm to develop and conduct integrated marketing programs in sectors relating to Private Equity, Funds and/or Investment Management. Essential Functions: Collaborate with and support the Private Equity, Funds and Investment Management practices to define market position, develop strategic plans and drive marketing efforts to maintain and grow our industry position. Develop and implement annual marketing and business development practice group programs focused on priorities outlined by practice leaders and lawyer teams, including thought leadership platforms, client outreach and promotion of achievements. Support Director(s), Assistant Director(s) and other key firm personnel in managing marketing, practice development and research functions for the NY transactional practices, including responsibility for periodic meetings, reports, analysis, progress monitoring, etc. Prepare responses to RFPs, pitches, presentations and other opportunities via the development of written proposals for assigned practices. Prepare and update biographies and announcements, coordinate marketing distribution, integrate contacts into firms CRM system, collect and integrate deal experience into department and practice materials. Develop and maintain league table/industry survey content for assigned practices and respond to league table/industry surveys. Maintain and organize select social media platforms including practice and industry blogs. Liaise with marketing and business development leadership to develop annual budgets. Provide general support for our growing New York transactional practices. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have familiarity with/exposure to private equity and fund formation and the marketing and fundraising of private investment funds, including an understanding of active sponsors, investors, placement agents and other constituents in the private equity and/or other alternative investment funds marketplace. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with the investment management sector, including a basic understanding of registered and unregistered fund products and the role of industry regulators such as the Securities and Exchange Commission. Specific Technical Skills: Excellent command of customary office software, including Windows, MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), PDF readers (Adobe Acrobat and Nuance). Excellent word processing/formatting/typing skills. Knowledge of on-line and electronic newswire services, media tracking and Internet research resources, and website marketing. Specific experience with Bloomberg, Preqin, Pitchbook, Private Equity Analyst, The Deals Private Raise and Manzama will inure to the benefit of the candidate. Prior CRM database experience is highly preferred.
