New York Life Insurance (NYL) is seeking a highly-talented, driven Project Delivery Lead to join our dynamic, high-performing team focused on modernizing the core of our investment technology platform. The future-state vision includes a best-of-breed, cloud-based technology incorporating core accounting platforms, performance system, sophisticated rules engines, data warehousing, client reporting and business intelligence tools. The Project Delivery Lead role will work with senior business and technology leaders, project managers, and strategic business analysts to develop and deliver a comprehensive strategy and set of roadmaps for the core investment businesses. With strategy and roadmaps defined, the individual will manage internal and external project managers and business analysts that will execute against the roadmaps in a collaborative cross-functional matrixed delivery model. This role requires our delivery teams to provide executive-level strategy and status updates. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Project Delivery and Business Analysis on complex, multi-provider, investment management platform solutions.

Functional Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business and technology leadership to define technology strategy and roadmaps for large scale investment management technology initiatives
  • Assess new technologies with your Application Development team partners and articulate the transition from current to future state in consideration of the future needs of the business
  • Manage internal and external project management and business analyst teams through all phases of the technology development life cycle
  • Partner with the Business, Application Development and Infrastructure teams through all phases of the technology development life cycle
  • Own relationship with Security & Risk Management teams, ensuring program designs satisfy data security and privacy requirements
  • Partner with Project Management Office to establish project performance metrics
    • Ensure that program activities are well organized, resourced and orchestrated with the business, functional and shared services units.
    • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant methodologies and process standards
    • Develop program timelines, individual work-stream deliverables and ensure timely reporting of all program metrics and statuses
  • Ensure that the program operate within the approved budget and time, through appropriate forecasting and utilization.
  • Articulate project issues/concerns that may emerge at any level of the project delivery life cycle, and from any component across the business and technology teams, to senior business and technology leaders
  • Closely monitor industry trends and developments and pass on findings to team leadership
    Required Skills:
  • Investment Management project delivery experience
  • Investment Management business acumen
  • Investment Management core systems experience with trading, accounting, performance, pricing, data platforms
  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts to varying audiences, including non-technical business executives
  • Team Leadership Experience (5-10 years)
  • Congenial history of building consensus among competing interests

    Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Investment Management industry experience
    Travel Requirement: 10%
