Upflex recently closed their Series Seed of $2.5M with a Silicon Valley based fund and it will be released publicly in the next 30 days. Position DescriptionThe Director of North American Sales will be responsible for generating revenues from the SMB, SME, and Enterprise market segments. The position located in New York City will operate in a player coach environment with a team of inside and outside sales executives. Office time is expected to be 70 percent and travel 30 percent. Most sales are closed over the phone. Upflex is a startup environment where the Director of North American Sales will be expected to carry an individual quota as well as growing the sales of the team. Compensation for the role includes salary, insurance, equity, commission, and bonus. Success and the commission/bonus plan are measured by three metrics: revenue, length of contract, and retention/renewals. The role has individual and group success components. ResponsibilitiesThe Director of North American Sales will have the following responsibilities: Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company's sales goals.Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.Develop personal book of business to lead by example to the sales team.Manage the sales teams, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth.Hire and develop sales staffBecome known as an employer of choice and a sales force that top sales people want to joinDefine and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targetsManage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfactionDefine sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when requiredManager and implement SalesForce.com and HubSpot. Provide detailed and accurate sales forecastingWork closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programsManage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunitiesTravel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships ExperienceThe Director of North American Sales will have the following experience Successful experience building a go-to-market strategy and corporate sales plan for a SaaS community service.5 or more years in a sales leadership role ideally with some experience in a large SaaS B2B company targeting SMB, SME, and Enterprise markets by phone.5 years selling individually beating quota annually ideally with a SaaS B2B company.Successful experience closing $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000 deals over the phone in 30-60 days. Successful experience monitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectationsSuccessful experience managing a team of 10+ salespeopleExperience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunitiesSuccessful experience utilizing a CRM like SalesForce.com to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing dataSuccessful experience hiring and onboarding sales representativesProven ability to write sales and customer communication materialsExperience providing status reports with market and customer feedback to the corporate leadership teamAbility to work in a small company environment with a culture committed to diversity.
