The Sales & Operations Planner (S&OPP) is responsible for creating and maintaining the consensus demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation, using statistical models within the Demand Planning module and utilizing insights from Sales, Marketing, and Finance. The S$OPP ensures alignment with company's financial plans by designing and executing a fully redesigned S&OP process. He/She will work closely with his/her peers in Vita Coco to develop, implement and share best practices.

This role will report intoto the Director of Operations for the USA and will be based out of our NYC office in New York, NY.

Main Responsibilities:

  • LeadershipLead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning Process, and act as the voice of the business to partners in Supply Chain Leads cross-functional team in the development of an aligned sales forecast, leveraging knowledge of historical performance, customer/consumer behavior, competitive activity and tactical/investment plans for the business Prepares, communicates, and effectively presents state of the business including sources of forecast variance, expectations for volume performance in future periods, as well as risks and opportunities to Business Unit Sr Leadership teamCollaborates to align S&OP forecast as a direct input into both the financial and operational plans to support expected demandDevelop statistical models/scenarios of cause and effect factors that drive strong correlations to demand for All Market Inc. products (i.e., sales of cars four years ago drive sales of replacement tires today)
  • Planning and Execution Ability to think strategically, AND execute effectivelyUnderstand the key business drivers at key customers to identify opportunities for growth and risks to current plans Integrates the work of brand/product marketing and sales planning to deliver balanced, aligned forecastsReview factors that shape the demand for All Market Inc. products (i.e.,category trends / trade promotions / competitive products / seasonality / retail consumption / distribution channels) and leverage statistical models/concepts to build a rolling 18month horizon demand plan. Evaluate and document market responses for new products and use this to develop qualitative forecasts for new items not yet introducedRegularly validate forecast splits down to the Item/DC/Week level. Adjust the shortterm DC-Week forecasts throughout the month as necessary to support effective deployment of inventoryEscalate high risk shifts in demand in the short term to key senior stakeholders
  • Business Requirements Exhibits strong business acumen and financial discipline when analyzing the business and identifying risks/opportunities.Understands interplay of forecast accuracy, customer service and inventory liability and drives to achieve best in class results across all three areas Communicates opportunities and risks to management on a proactive basis.Knowledge of key customer metrics/expectations and apply understanding of the resultant behaviors to explanations of variance or expectations for future periodsCompare Operational forecasts to Financial forecast. Explain variances, note uncertainty and highlight risk areas to the S&OP team.
  • Operations & Process ImpactLead resolution of demand/supply imbalances with key stakeholders Help assess the impact of potential changes to customer basePartner with Supply Planning and Logistics to successfully manage product transitions, both end of life and new product introductions Partner with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning and Customer Service teams to maximize customer fulfillment while concurrently minimizing working capital investment Participate in efforts to reduce costs throughout the Supply Chain Create, prepare, and maintain forecast templates while continously improving demand planning workflow with efficiency and easily translated to the monthly S&OP Leadership Review.
  • Miscellaneous Operations Support Lead/support operations related and ad-hoc projects
  • Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Education:

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field High caliber of professional interpersonal skills, with excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Years of experience:5+ plus years of experience in a consumer goods manufacturing environment with an understanding of major retail accounts and forecasting supply chain management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high level retail operations, forecasting technology, systems, market research data, and supply chain management
  • Proven ability to conduct complex, quantitative and statistical analyses complimented with qualitative inputs from multiple sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Strong Project Management Skills -Managing numerous projects at once, in a high paced environment.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Demand Planning modules (i.e. SAP APO, Manugistics/JDE, Cognos, etc)
  • Self-motivated team member who can drive resolution to issues with strong problemsolving skills.
  • APICS certification a plus
  • DSD experience is a plus
