Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Urban Forestry Educator The Environmental Educator is primarily responsible for Urban Forestry education and program delivery under the Asian Long Horned Beetle (ALB) grant. The Environmental Educator will also deliver programs in the areas of environmental science and marine science and present learning opportunities to residents in Nassau County with an emphasis on urban programming. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, the Educator also collaborates with other Association staff, Master Gardner volunteers, County and town reps, schools, agencies and other partners in Nassau County. The Educator will also assist with CCE 4-H environmental program delivery at East Meadow Farm (EMF) and the DPF 4-H camp. The Educator also performs general administrative responsibilities including program direction, management and coordination. Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Environmental Science or related field (Associate's degree in Environmental Science or related field plus 2 years transferrable program/functional experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree) and experience relevant to the role of the position. Full time position, 40 hours per week. Must be able to work some nights and weekends.
