This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Fabric Design, North & South America.
Design and develop textile products (specific to defined OEM company/companies) supporting the Fabric Product Business Unit, regional design strategy and business model.
Demonstrate creative skills that translate through the various CAD programs to meet the customers design briefs and that are technically feasible.
Collaborate with the Technical Development team(s) to ensure textile designs are appropriate for manufacturability.
Have a technical understanding of textile constructions, yarns, and manufacturing processes.
Team involvement with Design, Sales and engineering is essential to be successful.
Gain an understanding of the test methods and criteria that is related to the defined OEM.
Understand the business and fabric strategy for Adient Fabric Product Business Unit, and design products that meet the customer's needs, and are in-line with the internal strategy.
Use skills and talents to generate ideas consistent with the Adient global design goals, supporting the design team as and when needed.
Collaboration with the global design teams is essential to support the defined OEM global programs, understanding the regional differences both technically and aesthetically, and applying that to new developments.
Demonstrate professional, effective verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally through meeting reports, and summaries of customer/supplier visits.
Actively participate in creating and presenting fabric concepts to design teams and key partners internally and externally.
Understand the regional/global design trends, benchmarks and market trends in the Adient fabric sector and translate inspiration into feasible products.

4 year degree in Textile Design or equivalent experience required.
2 years related product design experience

Textile construction knowledge required.
Good communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Experience with Textile CAD, Illustrator and Photoshop software
Required to travel as and when necessary to support the customer, and product developments.
