The AEI Housing Center is seeking a full-time research assistant/associate to work with Edward J. Pinto and Tobias Peter on research focusing on domestic housing, historical and current mortgage lending policies, and financial policy reform. This new research assistant/associate will begin in summer 2020. Primary assignments will include maintaining the center's various indexes and large databases; providing research support in the form of data management, retrieval, and analysis; editing and contributing to scholarly papers, articles, and op-eds; and creating and formatting charts and tables, graphic displays, and presentations. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in economics and public policy, experience with acquiring data from official sources and analyzing large data sets, and knowledge of economic methodologies and statistical programs-preferably STATA. A strong math and statistics background is required, and coursework in linear algebra, multivariable calculus, and econometrics is strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills are required, and experience with Tableau is preferred. AEI offers a stimulating and harmonious work environment and excellent benefits.
