Communications is playing a critical role in shaping perceptions inside and outside the firm about our progress and the vital contributions colleagues are making to achieve our objectives. The Head of Culture and Change Communications will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders in the firm, lead a team, set and share standards of excellence with internal communicators throughout Aon and guide an editorial and experiential program achieving continued engagement with colleagues to build on the momentum of the Aon United growth strategy and evolving culture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and lead communications partner to the Chief People Officer and her organization to advance the evolution of Aons culture in a way that contributes commercial impact for the firm.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to key leaders in driving understanding and belief in Aon United growth strategy concepts, messaging and implementation throughout the organization.
  • Lead a team of colleagues with expertise in culture and change and internal communications.
  • Develop and lead execution of an internal editorial and colleague experiences strategy.
  • Optimize communication channels to raise awareness and drive adoption of key change and growth strategy initiatives.
  • Contribute as a key leader to the internal communications center of excellence that sets standards and scales best practices among communicators throughout the firm.
  • Develop working relationship with regional field communications teams so we are communicating with a consistent and aligned approach throughout the entire firm.
  • Oversee communications and other activities necessary for successful execution of rally moments contributing to heightened colleague engagement, excitement and pride about the continued evolution of the firms culture and recognition of the positive impact our firm has on clients and communities.
  • Develop the strategy and lead the team responsible for internal social impact communications driving understanding of ways colleagues and the firm are making a positive difference in local communities through our solution lines, client work and volunteer efforts.
  • You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • 15+ years in communications and a proven track record of innovation and results in leading complex communications in support of global business transformation efforts.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in a related discipline; graduate degree a plus (e.g., Communications, Journalism, English, Business)
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders across the enterprise and collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of advising and partnering with senior leaders, C-suite-level executives and human resources on strategic change and communication issues
  • Able to lead complex, sensitive communication initiatives, carefully navigating each situation to balance individual and organizational agendas

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Experience in leveraging new channels, multi-media and social media for internal communications
