As our Coding Manager you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operation of our Coding department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the coding process.  Come join our team!

What You Will Do

As a Coding Manager with Lourdes Hospital, you will have the opportunity to manage the daily operations of the department while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.


  • Develops, maintains and monitors controls and computer systems/environment for the assigned area of the department.
  • Participates on teams, committees, and special projects both internally and externally related to facility and systems services.
  • Conducts hiring, firing, coaching, evaluations, disciplinary action and scheduling of staff.
  • Provides input and monitors annual departmental budgets.
  • Develops ongoing quality assessment activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and governmental requirements.
  • Responsible for the daily operations, activities, customer services, operational efficiencies, quality improvement, financial outcomes, human resources management and physician relations of the Coding Department.

What You Will Need


  • Required Credential(s):
    • One or more of the following:
      • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education & Work Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • 2 years of experience required.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
  • Preferred: 5 years minimum inpatient coding experience.
  • Preferred: 1 - 2 years previous management experience.
