Licensed vocational nurse

Position Summary: Under supervision from the Clinic RN Manager, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) performs routine nurse visits and clinical procedures such as, but not limited to; taking and recording vital signs and recognizing variances from normal; performing EKG, spirometry, audiometry, Snellen and other tests; performs other clinic duties as necessary under the direction of the clinician or registered nurse; performs non-complicated nurse visits and document using SOAP format; delegate tasks to non-licensed nursing staff, health coaches (medical assistants) and volunteers within the unit. Minimum Qualification: Education: Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or graduate of an approved LVN program. Experience: One to three years’ related experience in a health care setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPR certification and Current CA LVN license. Preferred: Commitment to working in the Asian community, to community health care with familiarity with community health clinics preferred. Familiarity with community health clinics. Bilingual in English and Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese required.
