As the Global Marketing Head, Anemia - Roxadustat based in Wilmington, DE, youll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients lives. This role sits within Global Portfolio and Product Strategy (GPPS), which is the strategic unit that shapes AstraZenecas product and portfolio strategy. GPPS is part of the BioPharmaceutical Commercial group, which helps bridge science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, therapy areas and product strategies, providing strategic direction from early-stage research through to commercialization.

The role is responsible for developing the Anemia strategy. This person will be a key leader in the BioPharmaceutical Commercial team and Global Brand Team (GBT). She/he will lead the Renal Anemia cross functional team to maximize this opportunity with impactful ideas. You will need to demonstrate strong skills in strategic thinking, leadership, communication skills, and cross functional work. The Global Head, Renal Anemia will report to the Vice President, Renal & Anemia Franchises, US & Global Head of Marketing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Anemia strategy that expands the market in the near-term
  • Improve quality of execution of Anemia strategy simplifying messages and generating activities that increase value for countries
  • Lead the Renal Anemia team to ensure that we keep synergies across indications
  • Collaborate with the Key local markets team to ensure results in that critical market
  • Lead the product into delivering more value maximizing technology and innovation usage
  • Lead processes that require integration across brands and indications (LRP, QBRs, and BSP)
  • Ensure a coherent strategy with our external presence for Renal Anemia and across CVRM portfolio
  • Fuel the CVRM strategy with new insights and market knowledge
  • Develop the team to ensure progress against objectives and grow teams capabilities and responsibilities

Experience & Expertise Required:

Education: BA/BS is required. An advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in strategic marketing
  • Experience working in global environments and complex organizations
  • Therapeutic area experiences: Chronic Kidney Disease, Nephrology, Anemia, Hematology, Cardiovascular, Metabolic,
  • Brand Marketing experience for new products and new indications
  • Consistent track record of success considering pre-launch and launch
  • Experience working in sales organizations that allows him/her to develop tactics that are executable on field
  • Exposure to and track record of effective management of decision-making bodies
  • Experience managing P&Ls of brands that ensure company objectives
