Extremely prestigious Family office located in Midtown Manhattan. Well known throughout the community - family is worth over $10B. Excellent culture and hours looking for a see all do all accountant to join the team.

The Accountant will assist the Controller and the Accounting Team in providing accurate and timely accounting records which will be used for both financial and tax reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Position Description

    • Maintain general ledgers for individuals, trusts, partnerships and foundations
    • Analyze transactions and determine accounting entries required
    • Prepare and post journal entries
    • Perform bank reconciliations and other monthly reconciliations
    • Reconcile stock positions and trades to custody/brokerage statements and to the general ledger
    • Reconciliation of yearly tax forms to general ledger
    • Maintain the expense management system database, including creation of new employees, terminations, etc.
    • Maintain General Ledger (create subaccounts, e-bank set-up, etc.)
    • Prepare various Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial reports
    • Prepare Budgets for multiple entities on a monthly basis
    • Assist the Finance team with day to day, monthly and year-end operations of the department
    • Process and coordinate charitable contribution payments for multiple Family Foundations and Donor Advised Funds
    • Track installment payments for multi-year charitable commitments
    • Preparation of financial statements for Foundations and Donor Advised Funds
    • Special Projects and other duties as assigned


  • Experience at a public accounting firm with a diversified experience is preferred.
  • General accounting knowledge required proficient with debits and credits
  • Portfolio accounting (accounting for stocks and bonds) knowledge preferred
  • General knowledge of income taxes preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be able to take instructions and carry out as directed
  • Must have good judgment and know when to ask questions
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines and goals
  • Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes communication and the sharing of information with colleagues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
