CONTENT MANAGER/PROPOSAL WRITER (BD-19-1844-F):
Bowhead seeks a Content Manager/Proposal Writer in Springfield, VA, to research, organize, write, edit, and produce content for use in a wide variety of complex technical proposals. The Content Manager is tasked with ideation and creating compelling narrative structures to meet customer requirements and solve customer problems. This position requires that candidates demonstrate intrinsic motivation and the capability to research and gain in-depth understanding of subject matter.
The Content Manager will be responsible for interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and converting the resultant information for use in proposals. Content Managers are also responsible for adding value by actively engaging internal stakeholders and maintaining a cohesive brand voice. This position requires visualizing and sketching out graphics to support proposal narrative; creating the actual graphic is not required. This position may provide leadership for lower level employees.
Essential functions will include:
Collaborating with the capture team and technical experts for solution development based on company and subcontractor capabilities.
Working within proposal managers compliant outlines to integrate overall organization and structure of content in technical, management, staffing, transition, quality, and other relevant sections.
Successfully satisfying and completing writing projects in accordance with the proposal schedule and within scope of the team expectations.
Other duties may be assigned.
A Bachelors degree is required. A Bachelors degree in Journalism is preferred; Bachelors degree in English, Communications, or a related field will be considered.
Masters degrees are preferred.
8+ years professional experience.
Experience writing and/or editing federal proposals.
Strategic thinking skills are critical for success in this position. This position also requires demonstrated planning and time management skills; executive-level communications skills (oral and written); organizational skills; independence; and composure.
Flexibility to work outside of traditional office hours when necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Minimum eight (8) years experience in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Privia experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
