The accounting analyst performs weekly and monthly accounting duties and prepares reports to support the business, as well as, supporting the month-end closing process. This position will also be accountable for recording, tracking, and the accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
Manages the data collection and preparation of weekly and monthly profitability reports. Reports include, sales profitability estimate, distress analysis report, pounds and revenue report, co-pack report, statistical freight report, and various other reports for internal stakeholders.
Responsible for customer and product realignments in SAP to ensure accurate reporting as needed by management.
• Manage the statistical freight updates for customer profitability.
Provide customer master and material master data to groups across the business.
Record and track capital project costs and close out the projects once they are completed.
Record fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions and depreciation.
Reconcile the balances in the general ledger for fixed assets and depreciation.
Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget.
Evaluate and make recommendations regarding process/procedures to improve the performance of the accounting team.
Supports year-end audit with relevant fixed asset reports.
Feeds fixed asset data as needed to assist with tax return preparation.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting.
Knowledge of accounting concepts, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications, including advanced Excel skills(lookup/reference functions, pivot). Experience with Power BI, a plus.
Knowledge of SAP and/or other ERP systems.
Self-driven with ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a deadlines-oriented environment.
