Responsibilities:• Own performance tuning and operationalize big data tools.• Independently identify, analyze, and resolve hadoop platform/infrastructure problems• Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure technical development; recommend improvements• Develop technical content, such as white papers and reference architectures, that can be used by our organization to assist in deploying cloud-based analytics solutions• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Big Data and AWS solutions architect community• Build and maintain technical trusted advisor relationships to influence key technical decision makers on platform choices Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience• 5 to 7 years of relevant IT work experience.• Leadership experience in large, cross-functional teams, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.• Expert in Hadoop based big data stack and AWS systems engineering.• Experience developing platform architectures with one or more big data technologies (such as HDFS, HBase, Hive, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, YARN, Ranger, Ambari); Very good understanding of the tradeoffs that come with these technologies, such as when they are appropriate to use, and what it takes to secure and operationalize them• Experience designing new or enhancing existing architecture frameworks and implementing them in a cooperative setting.• Strong conceptual understanding of security at rest and in transit. Familiar with the mechanics of implementing various cyphers and algorithms.• Proven experience with performance tuning and operationalizing big data platform.• Passionate about delivering platform technologies and features in a team environment even if the team size is 1.• Demonstrate the ability to quickly ramp on new technologies.• Troubleshooting skills, ability to determine impacts, ability to resolve complex issues, and ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in stressful situations.• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications• Experience with data analytic tools including Storm, Flink, Zeppelin, etc. General understanding of the tradeoffs that come with these technologies, such as when they are appropriate to use, and what it takes to secure and operationalize them.• Experience with REST APIs, Java and Python (or another, similar, interpreted language)• Experience working in a Linux environment such as Red Hat, CentOS or Ubuntu• Experience with Terraform, Chef scripting, Ansible• Familiarity with Data Analysis or Statistics, and some data wrangling (programmatically extracting databases, transforming data, modeling it in readable form, etc)• AWS/Big Data Certifications
Software Engineers perform requirements analysis. They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.
Required Skills and Experience:
You have mastered several Software Engineering areas, applications or database environments. You act as a Software Engineering stream leader with technical delivery ownership within a (limited) number of technology areas. You contribute to bids or client proposals based on your technological expertise. You also act as a team leader with delivery ownership, and guide individuals and groups towards desired outcomes. You actively participate in at least one community and contribute to community discussions.
• Qualification: 6-8 years (2 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certification: Should have SE Level 1 and seeking level 2.
• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering, Testing, Data Management, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
