I am partnering with our client, a private company that is publicly owned, located in NYC, in their search for a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager supports the FP&A Director, CFO, Regional Leaders and department heads to develop and monitor financial and operating budgets and results. She/he will work with management to monitor progress against the budget and will look for ways to improve the financial performance of the company s business units.

An ideal candidate has a high attention to detail and can analyze data with the support of budgeting/reporting systems, find trends, and develop solutions for improved financial results.

Essential Functions

  • Help lead the company''s annual and quarterly budget process, including collection of submissions from company divisions and analysis of the results/trends.
  • Be part of a team implementing a new budgeting and reporting system.
  • Provide insight and analysis into the financial performance of the business, including trend analysis and developing recommendations to improve performance.
  • Work with business unit leaders to develop monthly budgets, KPIs, and reports to help them manage their respective divisions for continued profitable growth.
  • Project future trends and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Perform analysis on new investment opportunities including, but not limited to, marketing programs, office expansions/acquisitions, office leases and build-outs.
  • Support month-end related processes such as financial reporting and commentary, expense account review, allocations, reconciliations, research of journal entries, P&L review, etc.
  • Articulate financial concepts to non-finance business partners in a concise manner.
  • Special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Supervise one financial analyst.


  • 6+ years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, with a track record demonstrating excellent technical skills and accounting competency.
  • Advanced Excel with experience building reports. Experience with Adaptive Insights and PowerBi preferred.
  • Relevant Bachelor''s Degree (or equivalent) in a business-related area such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Excellent organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to multitask and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work autonomously, to meet tight deadlines, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience presenting to management, and an ability to lead and drive initiatives in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience within a multi-office corporate environment is preferred.
