Job Overview:
The responsibility of the AssistantAsset Protection/ Loss PreventionManager is to support their assigned stores business plan and the direction of Corporate Asset Protection / Loss Prevention by providing leadership, expertise, and training to their assigned store for the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. This includes, but is not limited to managing the internal and external theft programs as well as the Shortage Awareness Program within the store. The Assistant Asset Protection / Loss Prevention Manager is also responsible for managing the Safety Program and maintaining a safe work environment for all within their assigned store. The Assistant Asset Protection/ Loss Prevention Manager should be able to seamlessly fill into the AP/LP Manager's role in the AP/LP Managers absence.

Essential Functions:

  • Developing, managing, and communicating the shortage action plans and shortage programs within store.
  • Effectively executing the internal program
  • Effectively overseeing the execution of the external program.
  • Providing a safe environment for customers and associates.
  • Administering and enforcing the policies and standards of the company.
  • Recruitment and hiring of asset protection /loss prevention personnel.
  • Training and development of staff to achieve desired performance and to prepare them for promotion by building bench-strength.
  • Delivering performance counseling when necessary.
  • Leading the process of shortage plans and ensuring they are actionable, measurable, and impact the shortage bottom line.
  • Developing an open line of communication with both AP/LP and store associates, store management, central, and peer AP/LP teams.
  • Networking with local law enforcement and mall management.
  • Ensuring that all AP/LP guidelines are followed by AP/LP staff.
  • Represent Bloomingdales in court proceedings when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Responsible for all internal and external case management as assigned by AP/LP Manager.
  • Responsible for exception-based reporting to support internal program.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the physical security aspects of the job including, but not limited to alarms, EAS, CCTV, and key control.
  • Developing and implementing store action plans.
  • Highly organized and has the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to deliver constructive feedback.
  • Ability to make solid business decisions and implement necessary changes.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in asset protection / loss prevention.
  • 4-year degree preferred.
