About the Position

Company is seeking a head of engineering to play a key strategic role in our global business. Based in our NYC headquarters and reporting to the SVP of Technology, the Sr Director of Engineering will lead multiple engineering teams structured around Consumer, Partner, and Data.

In addition to overseeing engineering practices, you will manage a team that owns all technical aspects of our ecosystem. From the data gathering process to collaboration between Product and Design, your team must ensure cohesion between stakeholders and assess solutions/architecture against goals. The team consists of high-growth individuals where mentorship, accountability, and autonomy are essential to the improvement process.

The ideal candidate, skilled in diplomacy, collaboration, communication, and leadership, will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Accounts to execute tangible goals from our PE partners and the executive team.

What You''ll Do

Maintain under-managed code: Curb company OpEx growth by focusing on sunset or retention of under-managed code. Retain a "negative roadmap" of things we should stop doing in order to innovate on new ideas.

Make strong architectural choices that minimize maintenance burden

Push conventions that emphasize team collaboration and productivity

Grow individuals: Managing a team of 20+ engineering members, you will lead the charge on growth plans for team-building and retention. Continuous improvement of internal skill sets and engineering approach is key to maintaining a manageable team size through multi-x growth.

Use Engineering Leads to create development plans for all team members

Maintain and execute plans, with a focus on personal growth

Promote business growth goals: Own the creation and management of engineering goals, derived from over-arching business metrics. Infuse a "business-first" attitude into the engineering domain to keep focused on the problems we re trying to solve.

Make tech choices a primary consideration as we work on roadmapping towards goals

Foster an environment of business transparency and personal ownership over success metrics

Oversee the stability of our technical ecosystem: Manage infrastructure and architecture as we grow, infusing DevOps thinking into the entire team. Ensure group responsibility for stability and scale to avoid a "SME area only" attitude.

Manage on-call schedules and triage process improvements

Continue to develop our SRO function
