CR architecture + design is looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer to join our hospitality studio in our Cincinnati office. This studio successfully delivers exciting hotel projects located nationwide for a major hotel brand, including full interior renovation and custom ground-up construction, all with a very high standard of design.

THE CHALLENGE

A Senior Interior Designer is primarily responsible for leading and participating in the conceptualization, coordination, and development of various aspects of interior design and leading the concept design strategy for projects of various complexity/scope. A Senior Interior Designer is accountable for project delivery, including the assurance of technical quality and execution of tasks within the budgeted hours of the project and the scheduled timeframe, while adhering to client standards and design intent.A Senior Interior Designer must understand the 'big picture' business side of design (profitability, client's ROI expectations, etc.) and be able to evaluate and validate design solutions and offer recommendations through excellent communication and presentation skills.

HOW YOU SUCCEED

  • Lead and participate in the development of interior design documentation in various phases, including the preparation of interior materials, palette and furniture specifications, space planning, interior architecture, and FF&E.
  • Execute creative solutions to design challenges that are cost-effective, functional and durable, resulting in minimal client requested revisions due to quality of work.
  • Utilize Revit/BIM/CAD and other software to produce drawings, 3D renderings, and details.
  • Evaluate and validate design solutions and offer recommendations through excellent client communication and presentation skills.
  • Manage consultants.
  • Lead concept design strategy and attend and lead client review meetings and presentations.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Provide oversight and monitor the work of less experienced team members.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Maintain regular, in-person and punctual attendance.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited institution along with 8 years of related experience is preferred; minimum of 5 years of related experience is required.
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD with the ability to effectively execute project documentation and design intent and direct others to do the same is required.
  • Highly proficient in 3D rendering and design software including SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign is required.
  • Ability to accurately document FF&E specifications and formulate FF&E budgets is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of millwork detailing, material application, and ergonomic standards for furniture is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable life safety and ADA codes is required.
  • Exceptional communications skills including written, verbal, and presentation are required.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities is required.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting is required.
  • Ability to travel as needed is required.
