Cosmetics is currently looking for an analytical, collaborative and organized FP&A Analyst in the Bay Area to join our dynamic, high-growth beauty company. This is a newly created position and will be based in our Oakland corporate headquarters reporting directly to the Manager, FP&A.The FP&A Analyst will provide analytical and financial support to optimize decision making across all business units at e.l.f. The primary responsibilities of this role include executing the budgeting and forecasting process, supporting month-end close, creating management reports, and providing variance analysis. We are looking for someone who is a dependable and engaged business partner and is able to tackle complicated ad hoc projects and requests. We are also looking for someone who is eager to build relationships with leaders in each function as we establish new layers of financial support.The ideal candidate is someone who embraces e.l.f.’s dynamic culture of executing with speed and quality and is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. S/he should also be driven to understand and dissect business results and be highly comfortable with detailed financial modeling and analytics. Advanced Excel skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also necessary. Last, the ideal candidate has 2+ years of financial analysis or public accounting experience – if your experience is in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry, that is a definite plus.This position is based in Oakland, California. The primary responsibilities of this role include executing the budgeting and forecasting process, supporting month-end close, creating management reports, and providing variance analysis.ResponsibilitiesExecute the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting process to highlight and better understand business trendsWork directly with business and budget owners to analyze and understand key driversPartner with accounting during month-end close and fortify the connection between accounting and our budgeting processSupport newly implemented financial planning software, both in administration and design, to optimize budgeting and forecasting processAd hoc responsibilities as they arise including scenario planning and what-if analysis Requirements: from a leading undergraduate institution. An emphasis in finance and/or accounting is desirable.2+ years of financial analysis or public accounting experience. Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry is desirable.Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience with planning and forecasting software, a plus.Hardworking, strong problem-solving skills, and highly comfortable with detailed financial modeling and analytics.In-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts.Ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial company.Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and collaborate across departments and levels.SDL2017
