Sr. Analyst - Finance & Operations

Salary & Benefits:
$50,000 - $70,000 (based on experience)

EMPEA is hiring a Sr. Analyst - Finance & Operations to report directly to, and assist the Director of Finance and Operations in managing the finance, accounting, operations, technology, and human resource functions of the company. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist with preparation and execution of annual audit activities and tax filings including franchise tax reports, 1099s, 990s, Char500s, etc.
Works with the outsourced auditor, tax filer and bookkeeper to manage the activities of the department
Make sure that all company accounts are safeguarded including bank accounts, credit cards, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
Helps to ensure the monthly, periodic/quarterly and annual financial reports and analysis are executed including preparing and monitoring forecasts, budgets, revenues, expenses and liabilities
Coordinates with Director to prepare fiscal year-end forecasts, adjusting journal entries, revenue recognition, trail balance and bank reconciliations
Responsible for accurate and timely recording and reporting of the organization s books and records
Responsible for collecting all receipts and supporting materials for staff travel and expenses, per-diem expenditures and all such related matters.
Coordinates with Director to keep leases, subleases, and other rental obligations up-to-date
Facilitates the purchase and maintenance of all computer, telephone, internet, teleconferencing, printer, and other hardware as well as all software needs of the company
Helps to identify and hire IT services and other consulting engagements related to operations and technology.
Assists in setting up emails for new employees including business cards and new hire supplies
Works with building management and facilities personnel to submit all work orders and repairs
Expected to assist staff across verticals and participate in ad hoc projects as necessary
BA in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field
5+ years of working in finance and/or accounting function
Strong knowledge of debits and credits as well expertise using accounting ledger systems
Demonstrable exposure to financial statement preparation and knowledge of grantmaking, subscription based revenues, charitable funds and sponsorships.
Expert level MS Office including Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills in addition to strong interpersonal and communications skills
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
English (Spanish or other languages a plus)
High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic
Values teamwork and respects views from all voices
Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Familiarity with investment industry a plus
