We are looking for Construction Project Mangers to help support major disaster recovery efforts in the Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The successful candidate must have extensive technical and practical knowledge in engineering, construction and construction management. Qualified candidates should have previous experience managing multiple high valued ($1 to $10 million) commercial or governmental projects simultaneously. They must also have a sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or environmental engineering concerned with the design, layout, and supervision of construction operations. Candidate should have the proficiency to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion. Also, excellent oral and written communication skills are needed to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments, and to present recommendations. The candidate must be well-versed in project management software such as Primavera, Microsoft Projects, or other similar scheduling and budgeting software. It is also very important to be knowledgeable of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance. Exceptional customer relations skills are a requirement as the position will be direct interface with clients and other project stakeholders. Qualities to possess include: Assertive project leadership Critical thinking and analysis skills to develop alternative approaches for project roadblocks Ability to communicate project deviations that result in buy in from all stakeholders Ability to communicate project status that responds to all client and stakeholder concerns Major Duties will include: Overseeing the Construction Quality Management Program Reviewing project plans and specifications for technical soundness and to determine practicability from a construction management standpoint.
