We are seeking a Senior Managing Director of Programs to oversee our pipeline of HCZ programs, which include our K-12 Afterschool, College & Career, Parent, Community & Health, and Social Services programs. The Senior Managing Director will be charged with overseeing all aspects of program management with the objective of ensuring our best-in-class programs consistently achieve and exceed established goals designed to meet the needs of the children and families we serve. The Senior Managing Director will work closely with the COO, PA Superintendent and other senior leaders to execute our strategic plan, provide top-level management support and leadership to a team of program managing directors, and will be a key presenter externally to champion HCZ?s model and work as it relates to our sustained impact at scale and beyond Harlem.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Program Management. Provide top-level management for our best-in-class youth development programming. Oversee and ensure execution of programmatic strategic map. Design and implement strategies to enhance college and career readiness throughout entire pipeline of programs. Integrate health and wellness supports throughout all programs to effectively serve the whole child. Leverage data and learning to inform program design and execution. Work closely with the COO, CFO, PA Superintendent and other members of leadership to conduct timely review of data to inform problem-solving and decision-making. Review program budgets and staffing to ensure that they are in aligned with the organization?s vision and strategic priorities. Ensure successful execution of programmatic innovations outlined in the strategic plan, which include College & Career Readiness, Wellness & Mental Health, St. Nicholas Partnership, and Healthy Harlem Replication. Contribute to the development of HCZ?s strategic goals and objectives, as well as overall management and leadership. Assess and recommend new areas for program development. People Management. Provide leadership and management support to team of four program Managing Directors and 21 Directors. Directly oversee and manage ~1400 employees (~900 FTE) across 20 progams, which comprise over $40M in annual budget. Recruit, develop and retain high quality program staff. Establish, build and maintain relationships within the organization and community to ensure that HCZ is consistently meeting the needs of children, families and the community. Foster strong relationships and effective communication with HCZ senior leadership and staff. Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements. Master?s degree in education, social services, nonprofit management or related field with significant program management experience leading academic and enrichment-based youth development programming plus one or more of the following functions at an organization similar in size, context or complexity: community program, adult program, health and wellness program, and social service supports. Must possess strong gravitas, resilience and presence with the ability to remain calm under pressure, can influence CEOs and other executives, and command a room in times of crisis or indecision. Exceptional leadership and emotional intelligence, with the proven ability to build effective leaders and teams. Have a demonstrated track record of effective problem-solving and prudent decision-making. Strong project management skills with the ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and effectively manage resources. Maintain a relentless pursuit of results and very high standards for performance of themselves and colleagues. Superior analytical and communication skills (written and verbal). Sound judgment, high level of integrity, professionalism, a positive attitude and a sense of humor. Resourcefulness, creativity and strong problem-solving skills. Has perspective on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion, particularly as it relates to management practices and our work within underserved communities of color.
