Development Associate Interim Role (January June 2020) Summary The Advancement Office at Head-Royce School is seeking a detail-oriented, efficient, proactive, friendly team member with excellent database skills for temporary maternity leave coverage. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday starting in January 2020, or sooner. The Interim Development Associate reports to the Director of Advancement and will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving, Database Manager, and other school staff. Primary responsibilities include database management, gift entry, acknowledgements, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities Database Management: Responsible for primary constituent record keeping in Raiser’s Edge, record updates, changes, including address, phone, business and other updatesPerform various data reporting and maintenance of the constituent databasePerform gift entry on a regular basisGenerate acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders using mail merge Office Management and Administrative Tasks: Act as the primary reception for the 10-person Advancement Office, including greeting visitors and answering general calls directed to the Advancement OfficeManage electronic and hard copy filingManagement of office supplies, calendar, meetings and subscriptionsAssemble mailings as needed Track and monitor the office budget, coordinating closely with business office on reconciliationAdministrative support to the Director of AdvancementOther duties as assigned Events: Serve as event support backup for Special Events Coordinator, as needed. Back-up tasks may include coordinating logistical details for events, timelines, invitations, RSVPs tracking and name tags. Help staff Advancement Office events, as needed Qualifications The ideal candidate is an organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and oral communication skills. The Development Associate must be detail-oriented, provide meticulous followthrough, and be able to effectively multi-task. Strong interpersonal, analytical, technological, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to use time productively, will serve the candidate well. Desire to work as part of a team, friendliness, a sense of humor, and willingness to help when needed are essential. The candidate must possess excellent Mac computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with google suite of tools (google docs, sheets). Strong preference will be given to candidates with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud or other database experience. Some evening and weekend work may be required, with advanced notice.
