The Opportunity: SEF New York is responsible for marketing, structuring, and arranging financing for clients usually located in emerging market countries in connection with their procurement of big-ticket capital equipment and/or services. To provide its clients with comprehensive financing solutions, SEF New York works with: the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the export credit agency (ECA) of the US; Export Development Canada, the Canadian ECA; Airbus ECAs; government and multilateral agencies; as well as other risk mitigation providers, including Comprehensive Private Risk Insurance (CPRI). The team is involved in transactions in various industry sectors, with a particular focus on aerospace/aviation, natural resources and healthcare. Assignments range from ECA advisory to structuring and arranging financing supported by the ECAs and other risk mitigation providers. SEF New York covers clients, both private and public sector, all over the globe following exports or investments from North America. The SEF team in New York is part of a Global SEF platform with 50 product specialists and teams in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Beijing. ING is a lead player and, as such, has dominated the ECA league tables over the past years. Key words for the SEF New York team are dynamic, innovative, leading and international. Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role: How will you contribute? Working in the front office in an origination team of 3 dedicated professionals (MD, Director and Vice President), the Senior Analyst will be involved in transactions from start to finish. This would involve attending client calls and meetings, as well as preparing pitch book presentations, transaction greenlight memos for senior management, credit applications for Risk Management, and drafting term sheets. In addition, the position involves frequent interaction and cooperation with other industry/sector and client coverage teams within ING, as well as internal departments such as Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Syndications, Financial Markets and Operations. Your key responsibilities will include: As part of the deal team, assist in marketing, arranging and structuring new transactions Assist in the preparation and delivery of marketing pitches Preparation and processing of internal credit applications Managing and monitoring the existing portfolio, which includes preparing quarterly and annual reviews, internal risk ratings, conducting Know Your Customer processes, and day-to-day administrative tasks. Profile Qualifications / Education: A Bachelor?s or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or closely related quantitative field Experience / Knowledge: You have a minimum of 2 years experience in either energy finance and/or corporate finance within a top-tier financial institution - credit training a strong plus Knowledge of industry and company dynamics in the oil and gas/midstream sector a plus Proven understanding of Corporate and Investment Banking markets You have broad experience with financial modeling and a strong, fundamental grounding in Accounting and Finance disciplines, including cash flow lending You have a superior credit analysis background and strong related verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): outstanding excel skills and be able to build financial models very soon after starting. Fundamental understanding of core financial documents (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet). Qualification/Education: Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Law or closely-related quantitative field from an accredited U.S. school or equivalent Experience/Knowledge: At least 3 year of professional experience in a financial institution Strong quantitative and analytical skills Ability to identify the key issues (including legal aspects) in transaction structures and propose alternative solutions Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Personal Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Fluent in English (written and verbal); Spanish would be helpful.
