About the Position:



You will be involved in User Interface design for Ruby-On-Rails and Python-based web services for several Engineering Technologies web-based/RESTful applications. This position is specifically responsible for development associated with Junipers LRM Asset Management and Lab Automation System, as well as the Cloud Orchestrator application, responsible for the efficient use of Junipers Cloud architecture.

LRM provides the web service components that power a number of different user interfaces, and disparate workflows. Its features are constantly growing, and the LRM application and its web services are required by all test and lab automation tools. LRM is the central asset tracking mechanism for all of Junipers Engineering labs

The Cloud Orchestrator has a valuable role to play in several key initiatives. The Orchestrator is designed to provide high availability and efficient use of Junipers cloud architecture. Its architecture is designed to support a hybrid cloud model. There is a plan to move Cloud communication to the use of OpenStack in the coming year.

Engineering Technologies is comprised of some of the most senior and well-respected tools engineers, and the opportunity for professional growth under their tutelage (both architectural and design) is substantial.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with existing development team(s) and internal customers to design and implement effective, efficient and modern user interfaces within Engineering Technologies' Inception application framework.
  • Work with existing Cloud Orchestrator development team and the global lab team to add adminstrative and configuration interfaces.
  • Provide 'hands-on' support for the customers of the LRM and Cloud Orchestrator applications.
  • Work with internal customers directly to gather requirements and understand their specific workflows.
  • Become involved in various Machine Learning projects, using standard Python libraries

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • 2-3 years of experience with the Python language
  • 2-3 years of experience with HTML and Javascript
  • Strong networking background
  • Some SQL experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience developing with a common Machine Learning framework
  • Full stack development
  • Direct experience using PostgreSQL as a backend database
