Key Account Sales Executive

Position Summary:
The Key Account Sales Executive is an important member of the sales team, supporting the Chief Sales Officer in the planning and execution of business plans with leading craft chains and others. This may include finding and creating new business opportunities at various retail channels. The incumbent will be actively engaged with a select portfolio of existing accounts. The position will require the incumbent to learn the industry, our product portfolio, the accounts’ needs, as well as our company’s ways-of-working.
The position requires development of collaborative relationships and ongoing dialogue with internal departments, specifically Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Design, Finance, Operations and various supply chain functions to effectively communicate customers’ needs, while coordinating all activities to deliver projects on time and in full. Ultimately, though, the Sales Account Executive’s success will be measured by his/her ability to establish and maintain outstanding customer relationships that lead to growing sales/profitability as well as new business for the company’s products.
Responsibilities:
Develop action plans that support the company’s overall business objectives
Prepare product line and SKU recommendations that ensure delivery of the sales goals, while building the company’s presence (market share) at retail
Develop and implement promotional proposals that secure incremental merchandising and favorable consideration from key accounts
Work with accounts’ marketing, internet and/or social media teams, when needed, to plan and implement integrated promotional programs
Provide clear and concise direction and guidance to internal support teams to accomplish the company’s and accounts’ joint interests, then follow-up accordingly to ensure proper implementation; also, provide monthly sales forecasting guidance
Act as liaison between accounts and company departments on all matters relating to order fulfillment, billing and payment
Manage all aspects of day-to-day business, and issues, with key accounts; provide weekly status reports to Chief Sales Officer
Collaborate with Chief Sales Officer, and others, to develop presentations to key accounts in support of annual planning, periodic business review and other meetings
Monitor and analyze our company’s performance, with a particular emphasis on product line trends and productivity, planogram changes, share-of-shelf, pricing, promotional support and in-store merchandising activity
Track, analyze and report on competitive activity, as well as that of leading retailers, including planograms and in-store merchandising, retail pricing and promotion, advertising, web site communication, social media presence and more
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5+ years related sales experience; knowledge of the crafts industry preferred but not mandatory
Passion for building sales and relationships with buyers, merchandisers and other lead personnel within key accounts
Helping to grow top line revenue and profitability by establishing new account relationships
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); proficiency with Salesforce CRM (or another CRM program) preferred but not mandatory
Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects on a timely basis and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
