We are currently seeking a subject matter expert engineer to join our Industrial Wastewater team with the ability to work out of any of our locations (Syracuse, Nashville, Raleigh)! The successful candidate will assume responsibilities for collaboratively working with clients in assessing and managing Industrial Wastewater needs. Ability to communicate with clients, interact with stakeholders, scope project work, prepare proposals, and develop effective written reports is critical. We are seeking candidates with experience and interest in maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, regulator/legislation technical focus groups, active participation in industry events, contributing to Industrial Wastewater strategic planning at a local, regional, and national level, and provide internal technical thought leadership and subject matter expertise
Project work will be associated with private industrial clients including Leachate Management, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences & Pharmaceutical, Chemical Specialties and Metals industries. Essential skills include the following:
Function as technical director for advanced and complex physical/chemical and biological wastewater treatment systems for various industries.
Analytical thinking capability for developing solutions to address project objectives which may include targeted physical-chemical testing
Critical thinking abilities Lead technical aspects of alternatives evaluations,treatability and pilot studies, basis of designs, as well as preliminary and detailed process design.
Mentor junior and mid-level technical staff
Interface with engineering disciplines, technology partners, and others technical areas to deliver a seamless design for a total wastewater treatment system.
Communicating with, guiding, and advising a variety of individuals representing our clients, including executives, scientists, engineers, regulators, legal counsel, and other business professionals.
Active pursuit of professional development within a dynamic consulting environment (e.g., conference presentations, journal publications, professional visibility)
Manage projects, including tracking of milestones and deliverableswith strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
Prepare proposals reflecting understanding of client needs, development of budgets and cost estimates, and managing established client relationships
Apply engineering and scientific principles and concepts to area of specialization; able to draw solutions from education and formal training.
Critical thinking abilities for analysis and group participation for development of reports based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria.
Bachelors Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering and 15+years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field.
Advanced degree with focus in industrial wastewater treatment is a preferred
Professional Registration (s) is preferred
Active Participation in professional associations or other organizations
