With this paid internship opportunity your summer will be full of endless networking opportunities, field learning experiences and professional development.

Starting on either May 26th or June 8th, Gridterns experience activities such as attending first day orientation, working on marketable projects deliverables within your department, volunteer opportunities, site visits, a range of Lunch and Learn sessions and much more!

Opportunities May Include

Responsibilities vary on your area of interest and department placement. We hire from a range of majors for our Gridtern program. See below for some examples:

Environmental Science ? Sustainability Management ? Public Policy

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations such as governing site clean-up and waste management.
  • Conduct field work to collect data to help facilitate the environmental licensing and permitting of new utility infrastructure.
  • Support with the writing of energy, environmental, and climate policy positions.
  • Perform analytics on National Grids waste reduction initiative and assist in employee outreach and engagement to increase awareness in proper waste disposal.
  • Conduct regulatory research and produce filings.
  • Participate in envirnmental evaluation studies of our NY energy efficiency programs.
  • Past Departments included: Customer Energy Integration/Management, Project Planning, Resource Planning

At that time, you will receive more information on the department, role, location, and detailed responsibilities of the position(s).

    Qualifications
  • Currently have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (unless current first year student)
  • Have accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the United States for the entire duration of the internship
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2020 Semester
  • Some intern positions will require a valid US Drivers license with a safe driving history. This qualification will be included in department specific intern position(s) during the next step of the selection process
