If you are as enthusiastic about road racing and running in NYC, as you are about social media and high quality communication this could be the job for you!

As the Social Media Manager, you ll be a key liaison between NYCRUNS and the many athletes, running clubs, non-profit partners, and other organizations we interact with. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to craft razor shop copy, display savvy social media management, show off your knack for marketing, and innovate across the board.

This role is social media-heavy; you should be just as comfortable work-shopping copy as you are with planning a social media calendar or working together with influencers and local clubs. Creativity is a must and you should have big ideas about what an ideal event and brand looks like, with the strategies to make it happen. You ll also play an integral role in gathering feedback on event experiences from our community, creating open conversations with them, and working with the NYCRUNS team to make our events better.


Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies to build and support our community of running and fitness enthusiasts.

Providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts.

Coordinating with our digital marketing team.

Being a positive, customer-centric voice of NYCRUNS when interacting with followers and the public via all channels.

Developing and managing relationships with partners such as running clubs, sponsors, and non-profits.

Leading communications as a part of our event production team at approximately two dozen events annually.

Other duties and projects will be assigned based on individual skill set and organizational needs. You will be expected to pitch in in many different ways and be given the opportunity to explore other aspects of the company based on your unique skill set.


2-3 years in social media and communications

Stellar written communication skills including impeccable grammar and use of punctuation

Experience in managing high-profile social media accounts, from posting to tracking and monitoring engagement analytically.

An energetic and outgoing attitude, with an analytical approach on the best ways to grow our brand.

A desire to be in a startup environment and be a team player who can also work independently

Bachelor s degree in relevant area required

Excellent people skills

Digital Marketing experience helpful, but not necessary.

Relevant industry experience helpful, but not necessary.
