NYC Health Hospitals/Gouverneur provides primary and specialty outpatient care through its Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC) and residential care for the elderly and infirmed in its 295-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). Gouverneur recently completed a $250 million modernization project to offer enhanced, cutting edge healthcare services in a state of the art space. NYC Health Hospitals/Gotham, Gouverneurs D&TC is the largest freestanding D&TC in New York, providing more than 250,000 visits per year on the Lower East Side. Gotham, Gouverneur provides a comprehensive array of on-site services, including primary care, pediatrics, womens health, dentistry, behavioral health, podiatry, optometry, ENT, digital imaging, infectious disease, and other specialties and sub-specialties. NYC Health Hospitals/Gouverneur Skilled Nursing Facility provides 24-hour care for individuals in need of short-term, long-term care or hospice care. The facility is rated as a Best Nursing Home by US News and World Report. Post-Acute Care services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and audiology, and vocational rehabilitation. Under the general clinical supervision or in collaboration with the Physician, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Nurse Practitioners and students. Demonstrates an advanced level of educational functions and administrative responsibilities, performs complex health care activities, and provides health care leadership. In addition to the major duties of level I, performs the following: 1.Supervises Nurse Practitioner functions and activities. 2.Directs and assists in the precepting of students, Nurse Practitioners and other health careprofessionals. Evaluates performance and provides oral and written reports as required. 3.Provides clinical case presentation and instruction to students, colleagues, and other health careprofessionals through lectures and seminars as part of in-service and continuing education. 4.Provides input to faculty for development of Nurse Practitioner education. 5.Develops, organizes, and participates in health related research projects and quality assurancestudies. 6.Develops policies and protocols for the delivery of Nurse practitioner services Minimum Qualifications 1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; and 2. Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the New York State Department of Education; and 3. A current certification issued by the State Education Department to prescribe medication.
