Information Security Consultant Job Description The Information Security Consultant will support the day-to-day operations and effectiveness of enterprise information technology program. The Information Security Consultant must rely on operational experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Information Security Consultant will assist in implementing the technical aspects of, and participating in, the Information Security program. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelors or Seven (7) years of equivalent work experience in the field of Information Technology, and (3) years in Information Security. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS * A strong hands-on/technical knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including, but not limited to, Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL and core technologies like LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN's, and VPN, * At least one of the following certifications: IIA (diploma or advanced diploma)/ISO27001 (auditor or implementer), Security+ and CSA+, CompTIA Certification(s) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Seven (7) years enterprise IT experience, three (3) years of Information Security experience. Familiar with a variety of Information Technology concepts, practices, and procedures. Must have experience and the ability to utilize tools and techniques for assessing the effectiveness of information technology measures, identifying potential risk exposures, and protecting the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of Company assets. OTHER REQUIREMENTS We're hiring a passionate Information Technology Consultant with deeply technical Information Security knowledge. The ideal candidate maintains a working knowledge of current industry and national IT Security standards and best practices (ISO, NIST). Information Technology Consultant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand security initiatives and how they relate to current business processes. Understands how to create actionable intelligence from internal and external threat indicators. Working knowledge of security controls in the following areas: cloud computing, identity and access management, HIPS-HIDS, server hardening. Experience With: * Compliance skills in relation to key legislations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act of 2002, The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and The Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and compliance assessments, including SOC compliance.
