About the role We are hiring an Associate Attorney to advise our growing book of clients on commercial contract needs ranging from terms of use and privacy policies to licensing agreements, master services agreements and others. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with and advise clients on a range of other business law matters, including corporate structuring and governance, intellectual property, financings, and employment compliance. What we can expect from you You are an attorney who is highly attentive to detail and excellent at problem-solving. You can understand our clients’ goals and help them achieve their desired outcome while complying with the law and protecting their interests. You are great at communicating proactively with clients, SPZ staff and other external parties in a professional and friendly manner. Qualifications Required: Licensed to practice law in the State of California. 2+ year(s) experience as an attorney in a law firm or in-house. Highly experienced with reviewing various commercial contracts, including Terms of Service and Privacy Policies, Master Service Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Reseller Agreements, etc. High capacity for solving problems with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Proficient with Microsoft Office and generally tech-savvy and innately able to pick up new software quickly. Excellent with project management and multitasking. Preferred: Bay Area location preferred, but not required. Open to remote work for the right candidate. Prior experience in any of the following areas of law: business entities, corporate governance, IP, employment, securities, and data privacy. Prior experience interacting with clients to furnish legal advice. Demonstrated passion for entrepreneurship and/or mission-driven organizations.
