Work closely with clinical staff and Purchase Associate in determining departmental needs and objectives in regard to materials acquisition. Places and tracks orders, maintains and replenishes surgical inventory through manual/visual and database tracking; work closely with vendors and surgical teams to ensure par levels, continuous product flow and substitutions in the event of unavailability. Functions as a liaison between clinical staff and vendors to obtain product information and pricing. Maintains accurate records; provides database management: reconciles transactions or discrepancies with Hospital Purchasing and Accounts Payable. Assist with Value Analysis Programs, QI initiatives and special projects. Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree and two years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus excellent written/oral communication, analytical and computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience in a healthcare setting. Purchasing and/or materials management experience, familiarity with Windows 2007, Excel and Access. Experience in Lawson Materials Management software.
