Summary:
In direct partnership with the Global Client Solutions team, the Clinical and Commercial Business Development Teams, and Senior Divisional leaders, the Associate Director, Business Insights and Market and Developmentwill work to analyze key Syneos Health Client organizations to develop insights, identify opportunities, and build solutions that will help win new business opportunities and sustain/deepen Syneos Healths relationships. The role will also work closely with many groups and individuals across the enterprise, and provides a broad exposure to the strategic and operational opportunities facing the leading Pharmaceutical companies and Syneos Health. This is both a strategic and analyticalrole.

As a key foundation for the Global Client Services function, this position will:
Provide ongoing consultative support to the Global Client Solutions team by analytically enabling their efforts to identify opportunities and build partnerships with key client organizations that drive revenue growth for Syneos Health.
Collaborate with the Syneos Health analytical community to research targeted key client organizations and help guide potential Syneos Health BD opportunities.
Develop a deep and ongoing understanding of key client organizations corporate strategies, product promotional strategies, company challenges/opportunities, as well as impacts of operating environment trends, competitor strategies, and current events
Assist in the development and maintenance of annual account plans and 3 year strategic plans for targeted key client organizations.
Researches, plans and facilitates/leads market development and customer engagement opportunities.
Leverage business reporting tools to provide insights and recommendations.
Use primary and secondary market research data, business insights, CI tools, information gathered from Syneos Health subject matter experts, previous enterprise experience and external data sources to develop value-creating solutions designed to address client needs, and thereby win and maintain business for Syneos Health.
Support proposal and pitch deck development for business development executives and leadership working with selected key client organizations.
Respond to ad hoc information/analytic requests from the Global Client Solutions team and Commercial Division business development community.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and integration across the Clinical and Commercial Business Development functions, including providing navigation to information and sources of expertise useful for advancing sales success.
Work within a matrixed organization to advance special client projects that support Global Client Solutions objectives.

Qualifications
Requirements:
At least 5 years professional business experience required in one of the following: solutions-oriented secondary market research, analytics, consulting or business development within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, or a Life Science. Master's or other advanced degree preferred.
Analytical, solutions development, and structured problem solving experience is required, preferably within the context of internal or external consulting/advisory support.
Significant experience motivating/leading/working with indirect project teams to solve tactical/strategic problems for internal and/or external clients required.
Consultative/client services experience strongly preferred.
Competitive intelligence analysis experience a plus.
Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities equally well.
Strong influencing skills with a tactful approach.
Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
Excellent quantitative skills, the ability to think critically, and ability to structure problems so they can be solved.
Ability to extrapolate and succinctly summarize and explain highly technical or complex issues to a high-level management audience.
High level of sense of urgency and purpose, excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, discretion, and ethics.
Intuitive and self-directed with the ability to work independently, as well as with groups.
An entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to innovate and create, and comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of common pharmaceutical data sets including EvaluatePharma, GlobalData, Rx data sources, etc.
General knowledge of financial reporting
Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
