HoursStandard University business hours8:30am 5:00pm (academic year)8:00am 4:30pm (summer)Hours may vary based on operational needs.Job DescriptionThe Associate Director, Operations and Facilities is responsible for managing the efficient operations and ongoing projects of Campus Facilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of the projects tied to the Campus Framework, initiatives, strategic priorities, and special projects; liaison on behalf of the Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer as well as Business, Finance and Administrative Services (BFAS) leadership.The Associate Director of Operations will support and assist the Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer in the prioritization of University initiatives; and monitor progress toward institutional strategic goals. This position requires experience with operations, strategy, communications and executive administrative duties and skills.QualificationsBachelors Degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of work experience preferably in an operational facilities and college athletic level environment.Prior experience in higher education is preferred.Job Specific QualificationsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Ability to manage multiple projects & priorities of both the strategic and operational nature.Minimum of 5 years experience in higher education is preferred, specifically in Athletics & Facilities operationStrong oral and written communication skills, including experience in interpreting and articulating a variety of regulations, policies, and procedures.Detail oriented, able to work independently, maintain confidentiality & exercise judgment and discretion in the performance of all functions and responsibilities.Possess the ability to analyze processes in order to maximize operating efficiency and improve customer service while maintaining compliance with established policies.Interact well with a diverse group of people, at all levels, particularly in an executive environment, and with a high level of professionalism.Demonstrated integrity and work ethic.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the University community among administration, faculty and staff.Experience working collaboratively and promoting customer service.Must possess the ability to work extended hours as needed, meet project deadlines work under time constraint.ResponsibilitiesPerform operational and strategic duties and projects as assigned by the Vice President & Chief Facilities Officer. Such duties include conducting operational analyses and proposing solutions to improve administrative service-related processes, compiling and reporting monthly status reports on various capital projects and campus framework initiatives.Provide on-going communication, research and information to the Vice President & Chief Facilities officer and the BFAS leadership team on all matters associated with effective and efficient operations of the office. Handle highly confidential, sensitive and/or critical information, files, records and reports.Act as liaison with various units, SU schools/colleges, outside organizations (consultants, vendors, town and zoning, etc) with the ability to effectively communicate to easily interact across different levels and departments.Collaborate with individuals on campus and external advisers to record, track, and report on progress related to various initiatives overseen by the Campus Facilities.Application InstructionsIn addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.EEOCSyracuse University is an equal-opportunity, affirmative-action institution.
