HoursStandard University business hours8:30am 5:00pm (academic year)8:00am 4:30pm (summer)Hours may vary based on operational needs.Job DescriptionThe Director of Operations and Partnerships leads unit operations and builds Syracuse University Multicultural Advancements (SUMA) corporate and foundation relations. This position will assist the Assistant Vice President in executing the strategic initiatives of the Unit through management of staff and/or consultants, oversight of operational budgets and increased administrative efficiencies and processes (including reporting related to the growth and administration of the Our Time Has Come endowment). They will support the growth of income from major gifts, endowments, and fundraising events and is directly responsible for securing Corporate and Foundation Gifts.Regular evening and weekend work commitments are required in this role.QualificationsBachelors degree required.Advanced degree/MBA, multicultural marketing and/or development experience a plus.This position will require a minimum of 10 years work/supervisory experience.A valid drivers license is required.Job Specific QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a background in corporate partnerships, foundation relations, non-profit fundraising or sales, business analysis/reporting, and prospect/donor management.Must have the ability to interact with all levels of faculty and staff and have the ability to be both strategic and tactical, as this position is a player/coach role.Must work well within a small but productive team where effective communication, integration, multitasking, cross training and peer-to-peer partnership is required.Solid project management, organizational, account management and negotiation skills; strong writing and presentation skills; ability to effectively manage budgets, comfortable with technology, digital / social media.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs.ResponsibilitiesBuild relationships with corporations and foundations that support higher education diversity and inclusion programs similar to Our Time Has Come Scholarship and Leadership Program. This includes working with SUs corporate and foundation relations team, writing and presenting/submitting corporate partnership proposals and grant applications resulting in scholarship donations, internships, immersion trip funding, educational and leadership training opportunities and sponsorships. Must secure five (5) new partnerships each fiscal year.Manage delivery of requirements and reporting related to corporate and foundation gifts, programs and partnerships. Ensure that corporate and foundation programs are well-executed, and that SUMA partners are properly acknowledged, aware of outcomes related to their gift/program, and positioned for continued annual giving to Syracuse.Oversee and manage unit operating budget, scholarship administration and procedures, SUMA staff, alumni event policies, alumni giving and engagement data, and partner/vendor contracts.Manage 20+ SUMA targeted fundraising groups and Our Time Has Come endowments related to pledge payment notifications, endowment reports and fundraising strategies that positively impact scholarship fund growth.Lead management of the Office of Multicultural Advancement Advisory Board, including partnering with SUMAs director of development, determining annual board goals and objectives, enforcing board member requirements, supporting the needs of advisory board committees and working with SUMA team to secure new board members.Application InstructionsIn addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.EEOCSyracuse University is an equal-opportunity, affirmative-action institution.
