You will be responsible for;: Tune top 10 long-running queries on the primary database Locate, identify, classify, and document datasets Evaluate and report on our database security posture Transition individual employee permission roles into groups Review Postgres parameter group and production setup and evaluate ways to improve performance Analyze implications of a shift to alternative AWS database offerings (Aurora, etc.) Skills required; 5+ years of PostgreSQL database administration experience Expert level understanding of the PostgreSQL architecture and internals Extensive experience monitoring and tuning queries and optimizing performance Understanding and working knowledge of various extensions in PostgreSQL Must have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals. Working knowledge of Python and/or Go.
