POSITION PURPOSE Under the supervision of the Nutritional Services Chef Manager or Nutritional Services Coordinator, the Cook assists in the preparation and service of all menu items as needed, following recipes and procedures to maintain quality and consistency. Practices safe food storage and handling while keeping area sanitary and organized. Displays a positive attitudeand works as a team player at all times. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Follows all established recipes Follows tally sheets to acquire proper amounts for production, stocks area with supplies as needed Displays a positive attitude and promotes teamwork Adheres to infection control and food handling policies and procedures including proper food rotation, storage, labeling and dating Works quickly while maintaining cleanliness Adheres to all safety standards established for hospital and department Utilizes and demonstrates knowledge of Safety Data Sheets and associated programs Maintains confidentiality related to patients, staff and visitors and follows HIPAA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Previous food service experience required Strong interpersonal skills required PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Medium work. Requires continual and repetitive motions including lifting, bending, stooping, twisting. Prolonged walking and standing.
