Scope:
The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for system level definition of hardware and software/firmware requirements for military and space based products. Oversee implementation from concept, through design, development and test, to final product delivery. Conduct research, analysis and detailed design reviews, and provide recommendations to improve implementation. Position requires direct customer interaction to develop requirements, present design reviews, and provide support to resolve problems. Must be able to provide supervision, technical leadership and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design Activities:
- Develop detailed requirements and design concepts based on customer specifications/input
- Work with project management to set time expectations and to identify risks
- Work with mechanical team to establish size, weight, vibration and thermal constraints
- Lead development of product/solution and provide guidance to others on specific design functions
- Review parts and components selection to ensure all program requirements met
- Define any necessary test software and/or device firmware requirements
- Facilitate generation of design documentation including schematics, assembly drawings, test plans, product data sheets and user guides
- Define printed circuit board and/or hybrid module electrical and layout constraints
- Review board/module component placement, signal interconnects and DC power routing
- Conduct design reviews within the company and with external customersTest activities to support product design and development:
- Define test requirements for prototype, pre-production, production and qualification testing
- Facilitate generation of test procedures, qualification procedures and part certification plans
- Direct test effort, including oversight of test fixture design and test software function/module validation
- Review test results and make recommendation to optimize product performance and improve test implementation
- Oversee generation of full test documentation and reportsAnalysis to support design, development and optimization of products and processes:
- Provide outline for analysis requirements and direct analysis efforts
- Oversee simulation of key circuit functions, to verify electrical performance and signal integrity
- Provide inputs for component stress, thermal modeling and reliability analysis
- Facilitate generation of circuit functional models and/or simulation of VHDL code in programmable devices
- Lead test repeat-ability analysis for products, fixtures and processes
- Review analysis results and interpret data to find correlations and trends
- Direct root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions in event of failures
- Ensure all analysis results documented and findings disseminatedGeneral duties:
- Work in compliance with document control systems, including revision and source control
- Listen to and understand customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action that exceeds expectations
- Provide direction and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
- Perform all other duties as assignedEssential Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive experience with analog, DC power and/or digital circuit design, layout and test
- Comprehensive knowledge of printed circuit board and/or hybrid module manufacturing processes
- Good understanding of RF/microwave principles would be beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and make high level decisions
- Ability to take general concepts and/or requirements, and turn them into the development of specific product or support functionality
- Comfortable conveying design information, performance data, test methods and recommendations/justifications to customer
- Superior problem solving skills and the tenacity to find the best possible solution to a problem
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to participate and work well in a multi-discipline team
- Solid computer skills, including electronic modeling, thermal modeling and/or digital circuit analysis and simulationRequired Education and Experience:Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; Master's Degree is preferred but not requiredExperience: 6 - 8 years of relevant experience Must be a US Citizen eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance. Export Statement:Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
