Provides psychiatric care to patients, collaborating with and under the direction of psychiatrists in the clinic, following established standards and practices.##Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, consultations, and medication management.##Educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.##Conducts psychiatric assessments, ongoing therapy sessions, orders tests, prescribes medications and serves as a patient#s advocate. # Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree;#possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number, as evidenced by the receipt of a copy of the notification assigning the number; successful completion of an approved Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program; and three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting required along with Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License; American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) psychiatric certification; current NYS Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license and certification with New York State Education Department; and Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS. # Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification and Possession of Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) Number preferred.
