GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking responsible Mechanical Engineering Interns with at least 2 years of course study to support projects in 2020 for the Commercial Engineering Rooftop product development team in Syracuse, NY.

The group is responsible for developing air conditioning systems for commercial products ranging from 3 to 150 tons. The assignment will be during the summer for 3-4 months from May - August.

Projects and tasks will focus on one or more of the following:

* Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow, and Thermodynamics
* Specification Development
* Product Literature Development
* Project Management

Key Responsibilities

* Develop product literature including physical data and performance tables
* Run computer models to simulate system and component performance
* Support engineering projects by organizing parts for prototype builds and working with mechanics and model shop to build parts and assemblies
* Work with design team in developing purchased parts specifications
* Attend company functions, lunch and learns and networking events
* Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks\ Report out on experience and present summer-long project to the local Engineering leadership team in a 30-45 minute power point presentation at end of internship

Requirements and Qualifications

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Self-directed and able to tackle new projects and ideas
* Experience using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
* Minimum of at least 2 years of completed coursework

Education / Certifications:

Candidate should be working on a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with a 3.0/4.0 GPA
